Funny how all you dumb fuck Americans cry when you watch black people mugging, raping, shooting white people in the street, but when its a rich french guy it serves him right for being rich, how dare be spend his money on whatever the fuck be wants.

Your Country is a shithole, its closer to El Salvador now than a first world country. Utter shithole, San Francisco, Portland, NY, Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit, Soon to be every one of your shit cities/towns too with the flood of millions of immigrants descending upon you. You think this is just the big cities but wait until this starts happening in your towns.

The victim, Pierrick Jamaux, was ambushed outside of his Manhattan hotel. He said that he was "shocked" by how dangerous New York City had become and said he "would never have visited" if he knew how much it had changed in the last 10 years, since he lived there.

Because it's a statement, he is basically saying look at me, look how rich I am, well congratulations someone did look and they put 5 bullets in you to take that statement from you.

I don't mind wearing nice watches for aesthetic reasons, there are plenty of nice watches around the 1-2K mark you can wear with different attire, a 450K watch however is merely to brag about your riches.

That luxury watch was manufactured. There is a vast ecosystem of people whose job it is to produce the parts to manufacture luxury watches. Their families depend on luxury watches being sold. There is a vast ecosystem of shippers, security personnel, sales people and insurance people whose job it is to make sure luxury watches sell to affluent buyers. You seem naive.
 Quoting: Dulcius Ex Asperis

Not sure what your point is. Do you mean that a half million dollar watch pays the bills of a lot of middle class families?

If that is the case, the same can be said for the outcome of the attack, and if the robbery had been successful an even greater re-distribution / trickle-down of wealth.

Re: Man wears a $450,000 watch in NYC...Guess what happens?
I would never begrudge someone who wants to have such possessions, even though i am dirt poor.

I think its disgusting that people think they have a right to rob that person of it. But i agree, he should of understood to be careful, with all the loons in this world.

These people would kill people for very little money, like $10, let alone, think twice about taking your life over a watch being 1/2 million.

Its why i never do the lottery even though i am poor. Too much hassle those people have, with people being crooks, and thieves.

I am glad i am poor in that way.

I think it is disgusting though that a person cannot buy what they want if they can afford it, and be left alone.

He should of known if he could afford such a watch, that dangerous people would want to rob him of it.

These people would beat a kid to death over $100 trainers, you can guess what they would do to steal a 1/2 million watch.

Thats why i am glad i am poor.

The vile people out there that would kill for very little money, shown by professional killers are real, shows that its a dangerous thing being mega rich.

He should of known better, but i for one do not begrudge people for wanting to buy nice things if they can afford it. Its there life, and these robbers had no right to steal it.

I wonder how anyone would know someone had a 1/2 million watch?

Who would know this, except professional thieves, or people who sold it to him, or someone who had close access to him?

Who knows?

But like someone said, many would not even know there are 1/2 million dollar watches.

meh, you know hes insured anyway.

and these watches have serial numbers etc
limited edition etc

the people who take them 9 out of 10 times dont even know how to get rid of it. probably they just wear it on occasions and store it at home. or sell it for far too cheap on someone who knows how to fence (spelling?) it

Best way to go is not to attract attention.

A posh party is one thing but not a thing to do on the street this day and age.

Could this be from insisder info from the hotel?

I wouldn't go out wearing high end on a city street anywhere. Not sure about places like Dubai, Qatar or Kuwait. Could be no different.

There are watches far pricier than 450,000.

I'm disgusted by ostentatious wealth as well. I wear crystal earrings that cost 20 dollars, not real diamonds. Diamonds are stupid and it's to easy to lose earrings.

No amount of wealth would make me any happier. It can't buy happiness and it can't buy youth.

I guess the colour scheme is to draw eyes to the fact you have a 1.7 million watch..?

I assume so. Not much point to wearing a hugely expensive watch like that if people don't see it, ask about it and then you can explain how VERY expensive it is.

A Ferrari or a Maserati seems like a better investment.

The tur-rist was carrying his arm money across borders. Normally any cash is declared at customs. By wearing his watch he may have been sneaking undeclared money on his arm under his shirt sleeve. Harder to hide a car.

However it would appear that he just arrived…so…who would be in a position to know exactly what he had & where he was staying besides someone at CBP?
