There’s something else that is alarming about the Goes 16 X-ray flux data stream that no one else is catching. The piece that is the most damaging is the baseline for the readings have been at the c-flare level. Baseline jumped up to an m-flare level for a couple of hours, but we have a two day c-flare in progress. Baseline normally rides at the bottom of a-flare range. The flares are small going from a C to an M is not a big jump in size. When baseline rides around a level and jumps to an m, that’s significant size change.

What’s wrong is that the sun is burning/boiling so strongly that it’s measuring as a constant c-flare for almost 48 hours. A 48 hour long duration c-flare. This is going to be a bad solar storm. Weather, electronics, radio etc all will be affected. Yes, the auroras will be pretty but a lot of plasma is coming at earth for a long duration storm.

I’ll bet Elon Musk is watching this storm like a hawk to make sure his satellites make it through ok. Could be a real game changer if he left solar flares out of the equation.

Gotta' wonder but does big energy providers have any kind of protocol they go thru' when big ones are expected to hit us? Am pretty sure they have folks who monitor what the Sun spews out but just wondered if there was some kind of lock down type of mode.
