I was going to buy from walmart the $49 battery that now sells for $109. Only...It's now $149.00 Quoting: Pilgrim001 That's right. A cheap car battery from WM is One Hundred Forty Nine dollars. Somebody better tell brandon not to piss off China so my battery won't cost so much. If you nose around the group sizes and know where your terminals are located you can find a cheapo. The battery they call out for my wife's car costs $159 but right next to it is a $49 one that's almost identical in size. Almost close in size is piss poor mechanical. Batts are sized group wise for a reason. So it can be mounted properly, with a propper fitting hold down. In the event of an accident, if that BATT comes lose, and hits your MOM in the back of the head, you'll wish you wwre not such a cheap retard. Jesus fucking christ you guys. |

And not like many vehicles are manual where you could roll them (Hill or push) and dump the clutch. ha ha ha the good old days. I use to do that all the time as a kid We've got two manual vehicles here and I plan on keeping them. But looking around for newer ones, they're getting fewer. Only on lower-end vehicles now. |

I recently bought a new battery that died on me and they wouldn't warranty it, i got it jump started and by the time i drove to the parts place it was charged up, so it passed their test. I don't trust these new batteries something is going on with them, but believe me that jump box that i linked works wonders and it can also charge anything on USB and has a nice light on it. About ten years ago I bought the biggest portable power pack Walmart offered. It was a Schumacher that cost me about $159 and had two AC and one DC outlets on the front along with a USB charging port and an LED work light. The 14ga. battery cables coiled around the back while on the side was a tire inflator I never bothered with since it was largely useless and noisy as Hell [like they All are]. Today Walmart only carries a much smaller Schumacher and even it's over $100... with an MSRP of $320.50! I actually bought mine for a household emergency power source and used it a couple of times during thunderstorms with strings of LED Christmas lights [where it worked great] since they're not made for very heavy loads. I kept it in the trunk and started my 28-yr old beater many times the first couple of years but noticed it quickly took longer and longer to recharge. Finally the internal battery just gave out and when I discovered a rebuilt generic replacement would cost me over $50 I tossed the whole unit. Kinda' sorry now that I did. |

Blame the environmentalists I purchased the hundred dollar battery a Walmart and gave them my core. A few months later the battery crapped out from sitting. I took it back to Walmart with my sales receipt. I was informed that I would have to pay another core charge. I told them they had the one and only core. I went around with four women for thirty minutes before getting the cash back minus the core. No more Walmart batteries. Somebody better tell brandon not to piss off China so my battery won't cost so much. Many of the new batteries now are Glass Mat. This drives the price up, but even the standard wet batteries are much more expense now. My father in-law used to work for Johnson Controls (they make most of the batteries out there including Interstate). He tells me that the reason for the price increases are due to environmental issues with manufacturing. Johnson controls shipped their manufacturing plants to Mexico to avoid these environmental issues. This brought the quality down and increased the prices. |
