Many, many years ago, a group of SDA's high up in the organization, decided (once and for all) that they were going to bring ALL knowledge (including science and astronomy)to the table to come to a CONCLUSION as to the time frames involved in the PASSION WEEK. They were seeking to "nail down" the particulars involved in the crucifixion of Christ. They hired an expert who then went to astronomy to determine the dates. Since the Jewish "economy" was based on LUNAR event, it was possible to trace back to the times of Christ and find the exact time when the Feast of Unleavened Bread began and ended.

However, they found themselves in a quandary. Because they could not change what was to them "set in stone", they came to a conclusion that they were not looking for and were somewhat embarrased by. Rather than publish their findings, they decided to bury the issue for lack of a way to come to conclusions. If they had put aside their differences (there were enemies in this group), they could have made a wonderful discovery that would have opened all their eyes. Nothing changed and nothing was ventured.

This is not to lay blame on those who sought to know the truth. The same mistakes have been made down the centuries and the mistakes are just as readily received even now. A simple understanding would have changed everything. As a result, everything changed--for the worse. One of those members went on to challenge our most basic beliefs and succeeded at watering down our message so that we would become more "mainstream" and acceptable. Up to this point, we were on many lists as a cult. The SDA church (at least on the surface) is now a welcome member (although a bit strange and peculiar) of the Christian community. That mainline SDA church is now joining hands with many other churches to embrace Catholicism at the highest levels and proclaim the "protestant movement" as dead. The 500th anniversary of Luther placing his 95 theses on the church door has reached a point of ecumenism never before seen in history. History is being rewritten as we watch gleefully.

Tomorrow, I will post what mistakes were missed and how it can be reconciled with the truth. Once laid out, step by step, it will become more obvious that there is a "cleansing" of our understanding that needs to happen. While there may be some residual understanding as to what and how we must prepare for what is approaching, this is not my primary interest. My approach is really "wholistic". It's not just about the spirit. It's about the mind, heart and body as well. It's not just about living forever. It's about having ABUNDANT life--here and now. It's about ASSURANCE--the kind of assurance that I received when I was VISITED by God. It's about KNOWING which removes doubt. I know that there are PRACTICAL applications.

I am just getting started. I have lots of work to do. Much of it is very technical, but I will try to make it understandable. Hopefully, some of those buried things will re-emerge. Hopefully also, there will be some meaningful dialogue in the future. For now, I am just trying to put my thoughts together to best present what I am trying to convey. It may take months. It may not take much time at all. I simply do not know at this point. It may become pointless, or a moot point. I have to try. Time will tell.
