Of course, I had to read everything that Adventism had to offer. It was somewhat of a nightmare at first. I "found" a mountain of "errors". If I had NOT had THE experience, I would have given up a LONG time ago. I persevered. I TRIED giving the warning about the children, but it fell on deaf ears. I tried telling them of the visitation, but no one believed. I found within the writings of Adventism, itself, that my experience was PROPHESIED. Since then, I have discovered that almost EVERYTHING that we take for granted in the Scriptures is almost completely wrong. Many Christians are not going to be happy without their "talking points". This goes for SDA's as well as everyone else. When it comes to all this stuff, we are ALL on the first page.

At the very CENTER of Adventist theology is the study of the Old Testament Sanctuary service. The church, itself, took the longest time prophecy of the Bible (2300 day/years) and made it their own foundation. The BEGINNING of this time prophecy tells of the time when the FOUNDATION of the Temple was to be built, and the ENDING of this prophecy tels of when this temple is to be CLEANSED. It is common knowledge (even written in the margins of the Bible), that this prophecy began in 357BC. I don't intend to get into the dates. They are all well established by many scholars. At the end of this 2300 year period, it was believed that the EARTH was to be cleansed (its people) and thus, the end of the world. When that end didn't come as prophesied, the entire movement fell apart. and only a few remained to study out the error. They "found" it and now believed that the temple that was to be "cleansed" was the Heavenly one in which Jesus ministers to the Saints. It was believed that Jesus left the "Holy Place" of the Sanctuary and moved to the "Most Holy Place"--thus to begin judgement of the living.

However, there is another explanation altogether. What Strong's Concordance says about this is revealing. The so-called "cleansing" has NOTHING to do with with what the Old Testament called cleansing, which was a practice used when the temple was "abominated". THIS cleansing had to do with a FORENSIC study of the Temple, itself. In other words, since the days of the Old Testament, the PURPOSE was lost to antiquity. The "cleansing" was designed to put the study of the temple back on the "front burner" to ascertain its reason, practice and purpose. For those who have read about Ezekiel's description, it is obvious that there is far more "in there" than meets the eye. In fact, it is the tip of the iceberg.

Obviously, as a Seventh Day Adventist, I worship on Saturday the Sabbath. Even this basic belief by Adventists has a depth that has not even been touched upon by man. There are many mysteries, but if we understand that God gives us mysteries to command our faith, then it is not a BURDEN but a BLESSING to get into these difficult subjects. It is NOT just about a holy day. It is NOT just about how and why it is holy. It is really about how its HOLINESS has a part in our ability to accomplish certain things. There is no doubt that "Sunday holiness" can accomplish some things. This is NOT about the purpose and reason of each in spiritual things. This is really about the purpose and reason in PHYSICAL things. This will not become apparent until we get into the meat of it. Eventually, it will be seen as the ONLY path forward. Just as science has its "sacred" truths, the sacred truths of the Scriptures are as "sacred" as E=MC2.
