Well you are spending the $20 either way, this way it pushes up the value of your stack and helps people learn about honest money again.

True again. I tell my co-workers to buy some silver NOW while it's cheap, but they don't. But most people today don't even know the value of silver or what to do with it if you gave it to them. Like Mike Dice proved on the street most will take a candy bar over an oz. of silver.

The server would think you're a cheap asshole and be more insulted than if you left no tip. They'd bitch about it the rest of the shift and at the end of the night they'd trade it for a dollar bill because it's easier than carrying a bunch of change.

That generous tip pissed off the server and you threw away $19, better off leaving a $20 ánd keeping the silver dollar yourself.

Ummm, show me a 1oz silver coin for 20. All I see is high 30s to over 40 depending on who minted it.


I also like this idea, but maybe smaller denominations or even maybe some constitutional silver.

Buy a bag of it and then roll it up.

I always tip big. I can afford it tho.

Nobody would use that as money, it would go to the restaurant and they would give regular cash as part of the tool pool that day. If you leave a tip, it does not just go to the server who served you, fyi.

The restaurant would just exchange the silver coin for something more practical.

I wish there was a smaller but well known unit.

Quarters are already worthless because they took out all the silver many years ago.

They need a 25% silver dollar, or a new "dime" coin whose reputation isn't ruined.

Yeah good point, my goal is to try to get people using silver as currency again.

When the SHTF with the dollar, people will stare blankly at you if you offer one in exchange for a tank of gas or whatever.

So we need to retrain the population to see and feel comfortable with spending silver coins.

Why would anyone want to do that? Silver is garbage, completely useless except for jewlery making, it has no actual practical value, except fabricated make-believe value.

BTW I don't like the socialism of the tip pool. The servers should tip the bus/kitchen whatever.

That punishes the good performers and rewards the slackers.

Trade PM's with folks who know what it is. I've paid in gold/silver with several merchants. Gun store, the shoe shine guy, the guy selling Trump flags etc. Folks who know what it is will be glad to accept in trade. Wait staff generally won't have a clue what to do with it and will just think you're weird /scammer etc.

Honest money is one of the pillars of liberty, we have to teach!

The kitchen staff does get tips too, I have found out by joining a kitchen staff recently.



Anyway yea.. Gold, alright, there's some technical uses for gold, its a great conductor for example, so its got some value, but silver is junk, and it's only got value as long as people believe its got value. After a SHTF and you came at me wanting to trade silver for stuff, I'd be like, screw that, trade me that coat and those hunting snares, or the boots, not that useless shiny pretty stuff.
