But the study also often makes prints (copies) of the original to sell at a much lower price. The prints are often numbered (limit quantity) and signed by the artist. Because the print itself is a copy, it is inherently worthless compared to the original, however there is value in scarcity. Therefore The number on that numbered print gives the print it's value. NFT is the number, basically. Like a serial number. An NFT can represent an real or not-real commodity or property of any value, including no value at all. However the NFT guarantees the scarcity of that property or commodity, thereby giving value to that commodity or property. Here's the real deal: because people are stupid, they can be convinced to spend money on worthless things simply because they're scarce (i.e. the only one in existence). NFT is therefore attractive to predators and idiots alike. IF NFT becomes mainstream enough that people demand that everyday mundane commodities (food, clothing etc) be represented by an NFT before their value can be recognized/accepted, then the market for non-NFT backed goods/services/commodity/property may collapse. Basically, you wouldn't be able to buy, sell, or trade anything without the NFT "MARK" ;-) simply because people may refuse to acknowledge the inherent value of that good/service/commodity/property. So. I think NFT is the mark of the Beast. It's something that people will accept willingly, not be forced into. |

Lets say that somebody created a really hot digital chick that many wanted to put into their games. That would be digital art and the creator would want to slap an NFT on his hot chick to protect the rights before selling/leasing his art work to the gaming industry. |
