If they were on the brink, then someone must have known, which means the treasure would have been found and they are chasing fools gold. There is no such thing as "on the brink of finding treasure"

I spent some time researching Ior Bok and the Bok Family Saga, a fascinating rabbit hole for anyone interested.

When the Christians took over from the Finns, the Bok pagan family had to go underground, so to speak, and keep their history hidden. Their ancient oral history was secretly passed down for 1000 years and Ior was the last to learn it. His mother spent 20 years teaching it to him.

At some point, Ior began telling his story, believing he was the last one of the "prophecy". He used the ancient language as one of the tools of explanation.

The Lemenkainen had qualities that made him the chief "stud" who fathered the elite children, and they had a whole system of genetics that is too complicated to get into, but I'm sure you catch my drift.
