It's not just Europe. Our country is in the thick of this. We were right there when the Soviet Union collapsed. We rushed in dollars,loans aplenty,food etc but it all had conditions. We humiliated them and gloated. We roamed their country going to formerly secret bases and inventorying their weapons. We{the west} looked down upon them. Guys like Mr. Putin were wounded by all this. You don't take a man's pride. He'll never forgive and he'll never forget. I think that's what drives Mr. Putin. I'm glad he has children,maybe that will soften his resolve for war. Next time a great nation falls evil or not the west should be a bit more gracious.
