Jussie Smollett is NOT going to prison!

That's right, even though that's what
everyone seems to be saying.
He's going to JAIL...
Not prison.

Okay, okay, what does it matter?
Jail, prison, same thing, he's getting locked-up.
But, are jail and prison synonymous?
No, not really.

This would not be worth discussing except
for the fact that Jussie got off light.
150 days in jail for what he did?
Not to worry
The 30 months probation will get him.
He'll probably fail a drug test
Or maybe he'll get caught
Burning a cross?

So, what is the difference between
JAIL & PRISON

NOTE: This is what I was told by people who spent time in Cuyahoga County Jail (Cleveland, OH) and they did time in the State Prison System. I've also spoken with a Deputy Sherriff of Cuyahoga County.

JAIL: 1 day-to-2 years
Worse than prison, much more dangerous, food is terrible, rarely outside, criminals from a complete variety of crimes, and violence. No white collar criminals, very urban population. A terrible place to be, for even 1 day.

PRISON: 2 years-to-LIFE
Because it's a long-term facility, prison is a society, with communities, jobs, edible food, an unwritten code-of-conduct to keep peace in the community and avoid conflict with guards. Drugs and alcohol are available in the prison 'black market'. Far less dangerous than county jail, although some dudes will end up being someone's girlfriend.

SUBURBAN JAIL: 1 day-to-2 years
Nothing like the County jails of big cities. Much safer, good food, easy going inmate population, small, not over-crowded, guards act like humans, considered Resort Lodging by those who have regular, first hand experience with such things.

QUESTION: Anyone know anything about the jail used for the City of Chicago? Is Jussie going to a frightful urban jail, or will he end up in a Resort Jail in one of Chicago's finer suburbs? Isn't Joliet a State Pen in Illinois?
