Everything BTC was celebrated for is basically proven untrue.

Digital gold isn't rising with gold for some reason.
 Quoting: ST. FLOYD OF FENTANYL

It will move on its own terms. BTC is up something like 700,000% in the last decade it’s not exactly struggling to do anything

Mike Adams (Natural News) discusses using “stable” Crypto coins tied to gold & silver

WITH ACCESS IN A SEPARATE (HARD)WALLET CONTROLLED

ONLY BY YOU NOT AN EXCHANGE like COINBASE !

He is not suggesting speculation but using the “coins” as financial

Instruments to purchase items & have your money outside of

CENTRAL BANKS (even that may eventually be “outlawed” ).

He said he was pushed in this direction by CANADA STEALING

THE WEALTH OF THE PROTESTING TRUCK DRIVERS

& what is HAPPENING TO ANYONE WHO DISAGREES ABOUT

our USA’s goobermunt policy decisions !!!! On Ukraine - COVID etc. !!!

Reasonable arguments on his part- he does warn against leaving large

amounts at risk anywhere you do not have security and possession-

he is still a “gold & silver bug” for wealth preservation but He seems to

Believe in diversification- food, weapons ammo, gold, silver, fuel, even

“Old cars” - what ever may be of value !

He even wants to list other merchants besides his own business that accepts

Crypto coins.
Yes he is long winded- financial the first part- then he goes into some

religious beliefs . . . Pick your interests!

pretty much.

Canada and now Coinbase.

these guys will say their wallet is a safe harbor
which is technically true but it's vulnerable
as soon as you interact over a network.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82392127

SELF-CUSTODY IS SAFE.

You can always send money from one wallet/address to another without exchanges; the nodes and miners do this for you.

If you need an exchange there are always decentralised ones like bisq.network

If you need anonymity,m then do NOT use KYC.
And do not re-use addresses.

You can exchange through or into a privacy coin like Monero, and you can even do this using an atomic swap wothout ANY formal exchange in the middle.

Don't be fooled by ignorant people. It is private, and can be as private as you need it to be, using the above tools.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78008151

So the basic message from people that know crypto is that this headline is bullshit. Crypto is actually safe if you know what you are doing and not a noob like me, I own zero crypto.

No rich Russian would really be affected by this move by coinbase because they don't keep their nut in coinbase...coinbase is just a place they can trade and cash out, but there are other secure ways to trace and cash out. Only morons keep their balance in an exchange...they keep it tied to some thumb drive or paper with the code on it.

Coinbase is an over regulated US exchange for cryto.

Also, it has a fraction of the market as Binance.

If Binance follows suit that would rock the crypto world. Coinbase, not so much. If you are on Coinbase you should expect them to come for you if they so choose. Free market is dead in USA.

Crypto-currency trading platform Coinbase has blocked 25,000 wallet addresses related to Russia.

The platform said the addresses were related to Russian individuals or entities it believed to have engaged in illicit activity.

The addresses were blocked over fears crypto-currency could be used to evade sanctions.

Soooo...if a private Crypto company can cut you off...do you really feel safe doing business with them? What if you are suddenly deemed the "enemy" and your assets are stolen by a private company?

If you keep your crypto on coinbase then YOU DON'T OWN THEM.

PERIOD.

Exchanges are for EXCHANGING. DO NOT keep your cryptos there any longer than needed.

So tired of peoples claiming to have their crypto stolen when it's their own fault for leaving them there in the first place.

You have thousands of dollars in crypto and you can't afford a 100$ hard wallet ?

When you go through a cex centralized exchange and keep your crypto their it’s not your crypto. Like money in the bank isn’t actually in the bank. Unless you self custody it’s just numbers on a screen like fiat.

If you create a wallet on coinbase and deposit your crypto there. They have poseesion of the wallet and your assetts.

Anybody with a brian who deals in crypto would keep the wallet on a thumbdrive in a safe. Keeping possession of it.

Kinda like coinbase is equal to a gold exchange where you have 'paper gold', vs keeping physical gold in your closet.
