the constitution protects citizens from things like slavery. that's what rights are ya dingus
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61430458 slavery was normal throughout the world for thousands of years. there are far greater evils than "19th century American slavery" killing unborn children; genocides with atom bombs; the current US government. most slaves had relatively good lives in America compared to what they would have had back home. the food and the shelter was MUCH better; and most of the masters were kindly souls. people forget that BEFORE the white man ever set foot on the African continent; 70 percent of the African population WAS ALREADY ENSLAVED BY THEOR OWN PEOPLE.
