Time to leave NATO
Why TF are we still paying a dime to defend another continent? Have the NATO countries sent troops to defend our southern border? Why should we be tied to the Germans, French,British etc when maybe now or at some point In the future it would be in our best interests to ally with Russia?

Get out now!

Re: Time to leave NATO
Oh my, where to start?

You have completely failed to understand how the world works.

Here's the short of it:

Most of the world's land, people, and resources are located on the vast Eurasian landmass. Right next to it is the middle East and Africa, with even more land and resources.

The natural state of the world, is therefore that the center of gravity of the world's economy lies in Eurasia. Not the Americas.

But we live in a world ruled by the US empire.

To maintain its rule, the US needs to keep the rest of the world in submission. It does so with military might. It has military bases in about 200 nations, and it regularly intervenes with force wherever its dominance is challenged.

With help of its military dominance, the supremacy of the US dollar is enforced, and as a result the US can buy things with money printed out of thin air, and forcing other nations to send them goods and resources without having to send anything of actual value back.

The US is in other words a huge parasite bleeding the rest of the planet dry.

Unsurprisingly, this isn't popular in the rest of the world, and so other nations seek to throw off the US shackles, by growing in power economically and militarily, until they can challenge the hegemon and throw off the shackles.

The US leadership knows this very well. It has been the (semi-)official US policy for many decades to keep the Eurasian super-continent from ever integrating politically, economically, and militarily.

To accomplish this, the US is constantly engaged in wars and destabilizing subversion operations in the band of nations that separate Western Europe from Eastern Asia. Only by keeping these nations in a constant state of chaos and disarray can the US keep nature from running its course, and Eurasia to rise to supremacy.

The US is an empire.

The "enemy" of this empire, is a united and integrated Eurasian economy, because the US is too small to compete. If Eurasia ever gets peace and security, it's economic power will soon dwarf the US. Then it's military power.

And lastly the dollar will die. No longer will the US be able to buy actual stuff for nothing. It's non-productive and divided population will turn on each other as the imports they depend on come to a halt. A civil war will tear the US to pieces, and once it's over it will be little less than a third world nation.

This is inevitable, for the simple reason the US has failed to use its power to benefit its own population. After bleeding the world dry for a century, the US has nothing to show for it. Rotting infrastructure everywhere.

Since the decay of the US empire has already gone too far to reverse, it is now lashing out with its last strength, in a desperate attempt to carve out at least part of the world for itself. The rise of China can't be stopped. But maybe Europe can still be kept under US heel.

Germany and the rest of Europe need Russian gas and resources, and are benefitting from a strong bilateral trade with China. Their interests are with Eurasia, not with the US.

But the US will try to pry them away. In its own desperate self interest.

TLDR:
You're not in Europe to help Europeans, you're there to help yourself. And you're not paying for it either, it is a world held hostage to you hyper-inflating dollars that is paying for everything you do. Not just your military adventures, but your standard of living in general.

The US has had 45 years of catastrophic trade deficits, and it's only getting worse. You're a parasitic nation. No-one is "stealing" anything from you.

Hey ac136, nice history lesson, but we need to revisit the Monroe doctrine and unite both North and South America. Russia can rule as much territory as they can cover, China can have all of Asia. Each superpower would be self sufficient

I agree in 24 we need a candidate to run on it. They don’t pay and it could get us killed. They are obviously ok with Russia paying them 300 billion for gas and oil.

Have at it
