Looks like a planet

Someone else has probably answered this already, but this is the effect of the earth's failing magnetosphere. You will see more things like this. The ground getting hot is a clue. This is electrical discharge that normally happens high in the atmosphere, but is coming closer and closer to earth.

Those unexplained "booms"? With a clear sky? Electrical discharge at very high altitude.

Lightning at all levels will become more intense.

One thing I'm seeing recently is power failures. Sudden, small unexplained power failures as transformers blow for no reason.

Earthquakes, high-intensity storms, tornados and water spouts, all caused by higher-levels of electrical energy happening closer to the earth's surface, will happen more frequently and with greater intensity.

It WILL get worse. Count on it.

I saw something very similar on time driving thru Texas

You are looking east at a diffuse rainbow appearing behind a thunderstorm that looks as such because of all of the moisture in the atmosphere. The rainbow appears much more muted thanks to all of the "haze" in front of it. Nothing sinister or conspiracy-ish about it.

They seemed drunk to me.

Do you see them during/after a storm? Still unsure what we're looking at here....

Seriously? After 5 pages you all can't figure out that the clouds in the sky [in the background] behind the people are causing the sun to be let in, just under a round canopy of clouds that have an arch shape?

This is causing an illumination on the clouds that look like an arching bright round spot [with lightening] to look like a moon or round arch.

It's just the sun peeking through under the clouds causing a strange shadow and illumination.

Just a kind of rainbow.

It's the reflection off the dome or firmament. We live in the thunder dome.

That definetely part of the VARDOM9 program.
