ATMs can run out of cash and on a Federal holiday like today employees who would refill the ATMs have the day off.
Cash at home should be your ATM. If your ATM runs out, go inside the bank when it is open and withdraw enough cash to replenish your ATM,

I prepared for this 10 years ago by keeping $5,500 in $5s and $10s in cash. It will devalue, but at least I'll have it if I need it.

Our registers at work have been acting up the past couple days too. A lot of people’s cards are displaying a “cannot process card at this time” message... more than normal.
