I just read a Daily Express (aka daily depress) piece on the looming arrival of Eunice.

In the space of one short article it was first 'winds up to 60mph', then 'winds up to 90'. The hack rounded it off with 'winds up to 100mph'.

Then I go to accuweather, which I've found to be spot on over the last decade. The wind speeds forecast are nothing like this.

Had an email from my power network provider assuring me that they're all geared up to deal with any wrecked cables etc.

I guess this is the over-excitable, certificates-for-writing-stuff-no matter-if-it's-true-or-makes-sense generation running things now....
