What's the Best Way to Avoid a Process Server?
Bitch has tried to serve me 3 times, but has been thwarted by my locked gates.
I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.

Don't...just get served and get on with it.

You can delay and delay but they will eventually find you, maybe somewhere inconvenient, or even embarrassing.

Private process servers will lie in wait...that is what they get paid to do. And you come out with your garbage, and you are served.

Some jurisdictions have ways to serve you that don't involve putting the summons in your hand, so if you blow this off, and think it's over, it's probably not, they served you by publication or something like that, and they proceed without you unbeknownst to you, default judgment entered, wage garnishment, bank freeze, etc.

Legal problems are like cheese...they don't age well when left alone.

Address what is happening by getting the process started.

At a minimum use online dockets to find out what the case is about/what is the status/what is the plaintiff up to so you are in the know, if you are going to keep avoiding.

Process servers after 3 or more attempts to serve you will attach to your door and follow up with a regular mailing and certified mailing. That’s how it’s done in my state.

They can't get to my door. And I don't sign for any mail

Mail that is refused and returned to the post office simply confirms to the court that the address is a valid address. They will then sent whatever the document is by regular U.S. mail, and it will be considered served that way.

There is no dispute about the address as far as I know. My regular mail is often stolen, it is epidemic around here.

No worries, it is becoming like a game at this point.

If you could get out of it that easily, "everyone" would do so.

I played these games in the past, intercepting them on someone elses behalf. I recently educated myself and realized I was being foolish.

They still run errands for the government and should be treated as poorly as possible when you encounter them.

I am a private person. I don't appreciate anyone showing up unknown, uninvited and un-announced. Seems reasonable to me.
