Were expecting about that much too up here in penobscot co./n. Maine.. Winds more like 40-50mph tho. Been some damn cold nites n mornings tho like -20 -25below (f). Those are like mild antarctic winter temps lol, think the the winter avg more like -50f down there tho.

only thing empty was hamburger, completely gone

and frozen chicken nuggets, strips. cleaned out

This has become a joke in two ways. One way is the fact that its the north, during winter, we should be able to handle this. snow is snow. Send out the street and sidewalk plows, salt the roads, remove the snow banks with heavy equipment and deal with it. The fact we dont have the equipment, the staff, etc is pathetic
In my area, we had a relatively common storm, and they had to put snow plows on garbage trucks to get the job done because they havent kept up their fleet of snow plows. We did better in the 80s with snow and ice removal and mitigation than we are today. They openly talk about limiting salt use due to climate concerns. They use the same excuse to not use sidewalk plows or salt on side streets at all in major areas-side streets that are large enough to be main thoroughfares of smaller cities and towns.

the 2nd issue is ratings. the local news channels are losing ratings at an ever increasing pace. They are firing people left and right trying to stay afloat and its not working because people dont want their bullshit. The only thing that gets ratings now is people checking to see about storms, so the local weather constantly plays up every single weather event. Its become a boy who cried wolf thing so when an actual wolf shows up, no one is prepared
