10th amendment, 2nd amendment, preemtion, etc.....opening themselves up to lawsuits. Beside most "murders" are preformed with stolen or unregistered guns so they wont have insurance.
Our yearly gun death rates include suicide, lawful self defense, domestic violence, police shootings and strait up murder. If you remove suicide, self defense, and police shootings there are only about 4,000 gun deaths per year. about 1000 are domestic. the other 3000 or so are gang/drug disputes. Those people wont have gun insurance. Suicide victims wont care. Will the police carry insurance? or continue to have their settlements paid by taxpayers?
If i shoot someone in self defense why should I need insurance. Its like an accident with the other person at fault....maybe muggers, smash and grabbers, home invaders, and carjackers should have to get insurance.
