Walther P22 vs Ruger SR22

Walther is German, buy it.

I always like the look of the sr22 but never held one.

Why a 22?

I feel like there's really only two options... Browning buckmark and ruger Mark ii/iii

SR22 is way better....those Walthers in particular jam easy.

Go shoot both make up your own mind. What fits you won't fit someone else

Shot them both like them both. Walther is picky on what you feed it a lot of 22s are. The Ruger ate everything I feed it my only beef is the crazy long trigger pull before it breaks.

Then work on the trigger. In the 2020's probably should not have anything that like's just a few kinds of ammo. Or worse yet one kind of ammo. Everything likes cci mini mags . Question is are you setting on a few thousand of them? Just saying

Its pot metal but people have put 10s of thousands of rounds through them they eat anything and under 200 bucks.

Why would anyone need a gun?

Between those 2, the SR22 is better. Cleaning is much easier, which is a big deal.

However, I traded my SR22 for a Taurus T-22. High capacity, extremely accurate and easy to clean. Cheap extra mags also.

Piece of crap. Had one and got rid of it as soon as I could.

The Rugers stock trigger is junk, go buy a Browning Buckmark for that price range.

Never had a P22 but have several SR22’s and don’t recall a single problem.

The P22 only fires CCI mini mag reliably; the SR 22 shoots anything. I had a P22 and took it back for failure to feed issues.

TX22 is badass.

They have extended mags.

I have P22 and did not like it at first. Read online to put 1000 or more rounds through it before I decided.

I now have about 4,000 rounds ( yeah I keep track) thru it. I love it and no failure to feed, no need for special ammo etc.
As a matter of fact I shot almost 600 rounds between cleanings thru it with no cleaning just to see what it would do and it didn't get jammed up

It is a little tricky to clean but not my hardest gun to clean. My hardest gun to clean IMO is the Ruger LCP .380. I leave that to my 15 year old to clean for me

On another note my next interest in a .22 is the 30 round kel-tec pmr 30. 30 rounds in a handgun with pretty good reviews. Yeah yeah Kel tec cheap etc etc- I have the 9 mm kel tec carbine and it is a workhorse so be careful reading into review in which people have either never fired said gun they are reviewing or just spewing what they have heard from others

992 is a revolver but; 9 round capacity, shoots .22 short, 22 long (yes there is a .22 long), .22 long rifle, and .22 mag (WMR). Has dual cylinders, and about 5 seconds to swap out.

Both suck, get a Ruger Mark 4 or a Browning Buckmark.

Run good ammo and don't limp wrist it.
