Mother / Android
Anyone saw this film yet?
Its not the best i have seen yet, but its ending was shocking imho. I dont want to put a spoiler here but what is it about? Is it social programming or something that may happen and we should try to avoid?

Im talking about the ending, not the android plot, though this plot is interesting too, but quite usual in books and films.
But the ending.. it was shocking to me.

Watched it, the ending was extra sad. Kind of mankind survives but at a cost that makes the survival almost worthless.

My thoughts exactly. I know such events can take place during wars (mostly during wars) but the way they presented it (the future scenes) it was like they wanted you to accept it.

The movie was unsufferably sad and I regret having watched it. People that makes movies so gloom should be out of business quickly.

And of course, it was kind of forcing the idea we are screwed no matter what we do, and make sure we get used to that idea that we are screwed and we have no saying in the final outcome any more. Really stomach turning crap. I am not watching any more Netflix for the time being.

Bear in mind I had watched "don't look up" a couple of weeks before, another unsufferable piece of gloomy crap. But "Mother/Android" was far worse IMHO.

The only reason I keep Netflix is because the odd good old fashioned hollywood blockbuster movie or two a month that can be watched, but anything coming from Netflix itself is almost guaranteed to be absolute 100% smelly crap. Since I can't go to the cinema for not being vaxxed (even if I am just getting out of a covid case that got me hospitalized), paying Netflix, Amazon and HBO Max gets me the closest experience to cinema I can get from home.

I'm what you would probably call an old timer. I remember when most movies had a happy ending. Now it's just the opposite. Ask anyone over 50 and they will confirm what I say. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think there was a reason for the shift in the movie industry to make movies sad.

Holly wood would say it was to ad more realism to the movies and make them les predictable. My guess is most movie producers are working for the dark side now. This was no accident.

They surely have changed many things in films and especially in tv series, the "not always good ending" is one of them (not the worst though). It seems we have entered a new programming for the masses. Its the same with all kind of arts lately. Maybe they try to make us abandon art for good (as art can be inspiring and revolutionary).

So~

I still watch VHS and DVD's

The older the show the better. Download all the old black and white movies from the 1930's (the silent movies)

You will probable laugh but some of them are not bad.

Thats cool, i have kept some too, but the old video is broken and not sure if it could be fixed. I have decided to keep some old things, like favorite books, comics, magazines, vinyl records etc. in case of shtf etc
I will probably buy some portable music instruments too, i have a guitar, and also a gramophone or hand crank player. I think music is something we would miss bad during hard times.

I've been watching the ancient stuff, too. There's some real gems, but if you can find a silent film from the 30's, you're in a different timeline than I.
