There's no doubt that Jesus wants us to understand how important it is that when he says SEE ALL these things, he means literally in real time:

In Matthew 24:7 he gives examples of things we will see in many places in the world:

there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers many places around the world.

This leads up to the reason we need to recognize the AC standing in the holy place:

When you SEE him - flee into the mountains. If you are on a roof - don't go into the house to get anything.

If you are in a field - don't go back - FLEE....

How are you going to see him from a roof, or field if the holy place is an enclosed structure? Which it is.

Then Jesus says - there will be a great tribulation such has never been experienced on this earth before.
