Lost my mom 9 mos. Ago and now my dads fading away. I need prayers

Hello Ohio, I lost both my parents when I was in my thirties and their mid 50,s. It is always hard to lose a loved and my prayers are with ya. God never gives us more than we can handle . He will provide strength and comfort for you.

I hope things turn around for him though

I understand how you feel, OP.

For the past month we were watching dad waste away. He wouldn’t eat (fluids only) and seemed to be having increasing pain in his back and tingling/numbness in hands and feet. Overtime he was getting weaker and his mind was getting worse like someone with severe dementia.

We thought it was his spinal stenosis and severe constipation causing the issues he was experiencing. We kept trying to get him to go to the hospital because it was obvious something is seriously wrong. He kept downplaying his issues.

Last Friday he was so weak he had trouble getting up to go to the bathroom. I tried several times to help lift him up, but it was like lifting dead weight. He couldn’t support himself. Eventually I got him up with a walker and he managed to get to the bathroom. When he was done, he came out of the bathroom barely walking and without his walker. I tried to get it to him in time, but he fell to the floor. We called 911 as he couldn’t get up himself and we couldn’t really help him anymore. When paramedics were asking him questions he couldn’t answer right. Very confused. After some time we finally got them to take him to the hospital.

My mother had to do admissions for him as he wasn’t in his right mind. We find out the next morning that he has kidney failure, hypercalcemia, and found lesions on his skull. They told us he has signs of multiple myeloma, which appears to be late stage.

He’s been on dialysis and they are doing a biopsy on his bone marrow tomorrow. They will be giving him a small dose of radiation on his spine today as that’s were they see additional damage from the cancer which has been causing him pain. Along with steroids for the inflammation. We will hear from the oncologist after additional tests are done. They will put him in a care facility.

This was a total shock for us because we didn’t know how bad his health really is. He was never upfront about his issues. His mother died from the same thing 22 years ago this month and the same age(65). I turn 30 next month. Now after learning about his diagnosis, everything he is going through makes sense now.

It’s hard to process everything that is going on and in such a short time. I know I need strength to get through this. Seems like a lot of people on here are having issues with their parents lately.

It's so hard these days to keep up with all the prayer requests. I know I and others try, but it doesn't always happen. Know that God hears even the groanings of your heart and answers them, even when there are no words. I'm so grateful for that! So many times these days, I have no words. You are not alone, either.

take the money you would have given to those demons and do good deeds with it, buy guns and dynamite
