Crazy times were in. I've been seeing empty shelves in grocery stores and I'm sure people buying a lot now since it's going to cost a lot more later. I think it's only going to get worse. This is our new normal.

real average hourly earnings fell (down 2.4% YoY) for the 9th straight month...

people are making less as prices surge.

Gasoline: +49.6%
Used Cars: +37.3%
Gas Utilities: +24.1%
Meats/Fish/Eggs: +12.5%
New Cars: +11.8%
Overall CPI: +7%
Food at home: +6.5%
Electricity: +6.3%
Food away from home: +6.0%
Apparel: +5.8%
Transportation: +4.2%
Shelter: +4.1%

The current numbers are being estimated to add an additional 5000$ to a typical American family's budget. I think that number is going to be low unfortunately. Inflation is a hidden tax which robs people that save FRNs as their main investment.

I can tell you that in Texas, at least (and probably all red states), realestate has gone up from 30% to over 100% of 2019 sales prices depending on the type and location.

I hope young people who are living at home like it, because they will NEVER be able to afford their own homes now.

inflation information has been deliberately skewed for decades, and as a prior poster mentioned, real wages are falling, actually from what i read, real wages have not risen, in relation to cpi, for at least 4 decades. Which by any standard, indicates, what was once middle class, is now close to subsistence. Add all sorts of other issues, there is no hope left for in particular white male's, its a,disaster looking for the planned fbi wrapup.
