How to: Grow your own shoes?!

Not that there aren't enough materials to make clothes out of, but have you ever thought about what growing your own shoes would like? I'm not talking about a tree that grows sneakers or a bush pushing out laces. No way. File this one under "strange and unusual," for sure!

Have you drank kombucha before? Well that little bit of hooey at the bottom of your glass is yeast and bacteria. This stuff, called scoby (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), is what gives your drink bubbles (same as old time root beer bottles) and can also be made in large quantities with sugar and tea to create custom leather-like material.
