Just so they can say "I did it". Tons of trash removed from Everest as cleanup unearths bodies Decades of climbing on the world's highest mountain have turned it into a very tall garbage dump, strewn with rubbish, human waste and even bodies. But a dedicated -- and impressively fit -- team of volunteers are tackling the problem by carrying out one of the world's most ambitious clean-ups, and it's seeing immediate results. Three metric tons (6,613 pounds) of garbage have been collected from the mountain in just the first two weeks of the scheme, according to AFP. That's about the weight of two SUVs, or a large male hippo. -50% [link to edition.cnn.com (secure)] Done by volunteers? and who is cashing all the climbers money? The corrupt Nepali government? They should at least pay them. I came. I saw. I Concorde. For once you have tasted Concorde you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return. Thought that was cool. Quoting: Vision Thing Also I am subscribed to two black homesteading family channels on youtube, they are both very Christian and have good channels for gardening information. I'm just saying that because it's nice and true, not to say you're wrong in any way, and not to put anyone on a pedestal either. Just for discussion, for fun. Fuck the racial/gender/sexual/nationality angle. What people need to focus on is just how liberal or conservative a person is or isn't. Generally, if a person tends to be a "lefty," be on the lookout for him or her to be a Dr Jekyl/Mr Hyde or Frankenstein's Monster. Something about liberal biases or leftwing compulsions really fuck up the brains of humans. |

My limit was a 10,000 foot tall mountain. Never even thought of something like Everest. I hope they make it. Climbing is skill and test of willpower that doesn't care what color your skin is. |

Quoting: Texas Best Anti-Faucist Usually they wait till May, but what do I know being white and all. They are climbing it in May. There's only one other short time frame for climbing everest. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40974374 Climbing is skill and test of willpower that doesn't care what color your skin is. Some are doing it to be talked about. They pay teams to facilitate their ascent. There are summits that are way much tougher to scale than Everest. Quote Wiki Jordan Romero is an American mountain climber who was 13 years old when he reached the summit of Mount Everest. Romero was accompanied by his father, Paul Romero, his step-mother, Karen Lundgren, and three Sherpas, Ang Pasang Sherpa, Lama Dawa Sherpa, and Lama Karma Sherpa.
