Not a completely invalid point, but given the current global cumulative state debt load, when 'they' break out the global CBDC's, we (we meaning the little guys) will be fortunate to retain 33% of the FRN's current global 'value' from our 'investments'.

So no, not exactly 'worthless' per se, but for anyone who tries to resist the coming digital conversion - worthless in fact and in deed.

And I imagine you can imagine what will be made 'mandatory' to participate in their next system.

For most people, long-term passive investing works best. The important thing is to be in the market, but have cash on hand to take advantage of corrections. You may even add puts for downside protection. But to not participate in the financial markets at all is a massive opportunity cost. The stock market averages around 8-12% per year, sure there will be corrections and recessions, but if your time horizon is 20-30 years, it's a blip. Those corrections will be the opportunity to put unused cash to work. It takes risk to make money, just make sure your appetite for risk and tolerance for loss aligns with your mental state and investment objectives. But simply putting money in a saving account or bonds that produce almost nothing (or a negative real return if inflation is factored in), will get you nothing and you cannot take full advantage of compounding returns.
