Wow, was just at Walgreen's today and they had one of those Time (?) special edition magazines about her and I was thumbing through it, not knowing she had died just a bit earlier in the day

Sucks she didn't make it to 100 and 2022

BTW, does anybody actually buy those special edition magazines ? I think that one was like $14.99 or so -- who spends that much on a magazine?

I saw a couple Time special editions about Pearl Harbor I liked, but just couldn't afford the price

Have always wondered how they make money on those, since most must be either returned or destroyed due to not being sold

(used to work at a place called Quad Graphics in Saratoga Springs NY, making those things, in printing and "finishing" (ugh) in a previous life)

I ran tape at a television station that played Golden Girls over and over and over and over. The show was never good. But I did like Betty in other things.

Grew up watching Betty. She seemed to be everywhere. Carol Burnett Show, Mary Tyler Moore show, every damn daytime game show.
