Wells Fargo postpones return to work indefinitely

"Wells Fargo on Tuesday postponed its return-to-office plans indefinitely amid the surge in the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

The bank, which is the second largest in the Phoenix metro, told employees it will provide them with more information early next year on when they should expect to be required to return to work.

"Given the changing external environment, we are delaying our return-to-office plans," the bank said in a statement."

"Even though Well Fargo has repeatedly pushed back its return-to-work plan, close to 100,000 of its employees have been coming into its workplaces during the pandemic, it said Tuesday. Vaccinated employees can voluntarily head into any of its offices, it said.

"We are continuing to closely monitor the environment with the health and wellbeing of our employees as our priority," the company said. "We look forward to fully returning our teams back to the office."
