Oh, I remember them! Wonderful times, 60-odd years ago. We’d burn off that sugar in no time, playing outside every day ‘til dusk.

The originals are long gone, but over the last decade or so I’ve managed to pick up a sno-cone machine and a cotton candy machine at my local Goodwill store, almost new in the box, for a couple of dollars. Why someone would get rid of such things baffles me. Also scored a caramel corn maker that works beautifully.

I used to get them out when we’d have the neighbors over for cookouts during the summer, and the adults as well as the kids loved it - made it like a real party. Sadly, with the pandemic, seems get-togethers are now a thing of the past - I miss that greatly.
