This is the part where I jump in...again, and point out the obvious.

WWII ~> Income Tax ~> Women working ~> Feminism ~> Divorce Rates ~> Family Unit Degradation ~> Population Decline ~> Immigration ~> Conflict

That's about as simply as I can put it. As a general overview...
I could add data points for different regions, human/animal territorial psychology..etc, but I think you get the idea.

Keep it simple.

Agreed?

I'll say it again on "Old Christmas Day" after the 12 days of Christmas have passed. January 6th and or 7th.

Epiphany!

For those that don't know... income tax was supposed to be a temporary war effort measure.

I suppose (not surprisingly) that those measure were never lifted when these economies boomed because of it.

Simply put... now we're paying for it.

History is LONG... the last hundred years is a drop of piddle on the seat compared to the greater puddle.

Take comfort.. this stuff happened before you or I were born, most likely. I take comfort in that.

Anyway.
Wanna talk about how old school laws slowly became religious rulesets that usually only make sense in retrospect?
Or is that going too far, too fast?

Thank you, kindly.

In all honesty, If I wanted to save the world, I'd super duper pin something like this and leave it up for years.
If God came down from the Heavens and asked.. "What's wrong, Paul?"

This is what I'd tell him.

Uh huh..
"What an odd pairing..."
Hehehe

Taxes themselves aren't really this issue I've seen.
A reasonable development through the ages of simple barter, trade and lending to a medium of exchange in bits of useful metal or stones.

We're advanced herd animals,,, you might say. So it seems natural everyone pitched in to acquire and maintain stuff we needed.

Allowing it to interfere with something structural like the family unit... balancing act.

Evolutionary / biology
Behavioural psychology
History
...etc

I like to compare notes and overlay subject highlights. Complex things get simple...(ish)

...old school government/religious rulesets
...times and places

ahhhh, simple..

No detractors?
Counter arguments?

As sharp as a two edged sword, I guess.
