Police shoot dead 14-year-old girl in store dressing room while opening fire in pursuit of assault suspect

A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed by police who opened fire on a Los Angeles department store while pursuing a suspect.

The girl, whose name has not been released, was killed just before noon on Thursday while she was in a dressing room at a Burlington store in the San Fernando Valley’s North Hollywood neighbourhood.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrived at the store responding a call about a male suspect accused of assaulting a woman with a deadly weapon, Captain Stacy Spell told a news conference.

Mr Spell said police began firing when they saw the suspect engaged in an assault on another person.

The suspect was struck by the officers’ bullets and killed.

If some cop open fires in a store and kills one of my kids from a stray, all i can say is that criminal they were shooting at had better of been shooting at people or in the act of stabbing someone because short of that there would be no place on Earth this cop could hide from me. Justice would eventually happen.

WHEN did police become such pussies? They shot and killed someone assaulting another person... how about break that shit up? I was a bouncer for many years and have broken-up countless fights, some with weapons and/or multiple/many assailants. You don't SHOOT the people fighting, you break it up- use pepper spray if you have to, then restrain their asses. If a cop is uncomfortable placing hands on someone in order to stop them from committing a crime, they should not be a beat cop (and this pretty much includes all women for obvious reasons).

Nevermind the collateral damage aspect, which this case unfortunately illustrates perfectly. Poor girl is trying on clothes and gets wasted for no good reason. Well, at least her family will get fucking PAID.
