Can't WAIT to arrive back in the Canaries Miss P.

I'll let you know when the trip is planned to La Palma if you fancy some pictures? I can do screen grabs from the videos I made before the eruption (and during) and then try and get shots now that are from the same position. A before and after if you think that will look cool?

I'm going to go and visit the hotel Sol La Palma to say thanks in person, as they were good enough to send my belongings left behind in the evac once the restrictions were lifted a year after the eruptions.

I wouldn't stay in the hotspot of gasses though. Of all the beautiful places La Palma has to offer, I never understood why people choose that ugly wannabe tourist hotspot place. Same as for Los cancajos at the other side. Why not tazacorte with the best climate and a calm beach and fresh fish everywhere.

Puerto Naos I think it is? I haven't seen anything for about a month or so, but I think they're still having problems with gas. I read they are even some people that still can't go home.

It didn't start as a cone, it was just a trippy set of spraying fountains, which we were driven near during the evac

Yesterday, December 20, 2022, the Canary Seismic Network of INVOLCAN registered a strong earthquake, magnitude 6.4, located in northern California (USA). The earthquake occurred at 10:34 p.m. (Canarian time) and was located on the northern margin of the famous San Andrés Fault. Throughout this same fault, devastating earthquakes often occur such as the one at Fort Tejón in 1857 (M=8.0), the one of San Francisco in 1906 (M=7.😎 and the one of Loma Prieta in 1989 (M=6.9). It is predicted that in the coming years the southern part of the fault, near the city of Los Angeles, could be hit by a strong earthquake, the “Big One.” The following figures show the epicenter of the earthquake and the seismograms registered by the Canaria Seismic Network.

Shhhhhhh.
