There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 81125768 United States 12/10/2021 06:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He is. Mike didn't look well on one of the last live shows he did with Mickey. Mike was the most accomplished musician in the band. Practically invented country-rock. Make a compilation of all the country-tinged tunes from the Monkees albums plus the unreleased stuff that came out years later... all killer stuff. . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 81125768 United States 12/10/2021 06:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh crap.. that sucks. :( Quoting: Tangy My friend Ricky was the music behind The Monkees on most tours in the early days.. The bassist. I wont dox him, sad about the passing of Keith (guitarist) but this story was funny. [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] [link to imgur.com (secure)] Was Ricky touring in the 60's? Or 70's? Because that last picture looks like the Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart band that toured in the 70's and also put out an album. They did Monkees tunes of course but it was only Mickey and Davey plus Boyce, Hart and a supporting band... . |

The best white lie they came up with was Charlie Manson auditioned for the show! That's just fucking awesome, because people still believe that to this day! The outselling the other boy-bands Beatles/Stones is also a great white lie. They talk about those white lies in this Australian interview: |

I have their Best of the Monkees burned on the computer. I watched their show back in the day, they were always stoned. I had to wait for the weekend. Yes! I love Mickey's voice. In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |

He spoke of it as being a part time Monkee. Now I wish I knew more. I was 11 when DJBH were touring haha.. He only mentioned it one of the first times I met him. We talk more about his current projects. With covid, I haven't seen him play now in a couple of years. crazy. This is from DJBH also. Ricky: 76' Micky broke his arm hanggliding and had it in a cast (here relaxing )...He still put on a great show! https://imgur.com/FKigHDG [link to imgur.com (secure)] Last Edited by Tangy on 12/10/2021 08:11 PM |

I wonder what was required by the promoter to go on that tour so that setting up dates in the venues would be easier hmmm? It seems to always either get you in the first 2 weeks or in the first 2-4 months like clockwork. |

User ID: 2229693 United States 12/10/2021 08:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just found this about Mr. Nesmith--- Nesmith died Dec. 10 at the age of 78, less than a month after taking his final bow on the Monkees farewell tour. “The last show of the tour is pretty much a blur to me,” Doelnz admitted. “Our last conversation probably took place that night, but I don’t recall it specifically. We did hug that night on the stage. And the whole tour was very emotional for me. I knew it was pretty unlikely that, for whatever reason, we’d ever be doing this again. That was both our attitudes for us. We went out with flair.” Dolenz stated it was "not [his] place to talk about the exact state of [Nesmith's] health towards the end of his life. But it’s public knowledge that just a couple of years ago, he had a quadruple bypass. It’s also no secret he was a Christian Scientist." Nesmith's death means that Dolenz is the final surviving Monkee.
