you do know that the Monkees were a fake band? They were picked out of hundreds of auditions to be actors on the TV show. Theye did NOT write their own music or play their own instruments.

Later after the TV show ended they tried to become a real band, and put out an album or two.

Michael and Peter were actually musicians. The other two were not.

Davy was a trained accomplished singer on the London stage before the manufacturing

He also played a part in making the movie Repo Man. Producer maybe. I can’t remember.

Aww! Thanks for this trip down memory lane! I loved these guys. Had all their albums, including Davy Jones’ before he was a Monkee. They had such energy and it was all such good, fun shtick! I laughed all the way thru this until the end which brought a tug to the throat. That’s it, I guess. “They say that all good times must end someday”, so the song goes (different group, tho!).

Only Mickey is left.

There was also a rumor going around in the 70's that Tork had died . I remember it.
