BREAKING; The Monkees Mike Nesmith has died

Nobody sported a cap like mike.

RIP Mike!

He did most of the singing, awesome voice.
Unique voice at least.

I have their Best of the Monkees burned on the computer.
I watched their show back in the day, they were always stoned.
I had to wait for the weekend.

Who cares?

In central Ohio along Rt 35 there is an exit for Pleasant Valley, and the next exit is for Clarksville.

It always makes me think of the Monkees.

Circus Boy was one of my favorite shows on television back when I was four or five years old, back in the 1950s. Don't go disrespecting Circus Boy.

My friend Ricky was the music behind The Monkees on most tours in the early days.. The bassist.

I wont dox him, sad about the passing of Keith (guitarist) but this story was funny.

This is a common misconception, in fact nobody ever died at all before the vaccines.

He was a good musician despite the fakery they were under. He also inherited quite a bit of money but he was broke at the time due to bad contracts.

My favorite Monkey song is "Circle Sky". Nesmith wrote that one. They were all great musicians.

He was rich as creases, a generous man in the community.

I don't damn near eva cry.

Not really, but he did pioneering work in starting the modern music video craze back in the day, and MTV could not have existed without it. But music videos actually came into being in the early sixties with the likes of the Beatles and The Who, with their little produced films for their popular songs. And a lot of rock and pop bands kept doing the same thought the 60s and 70s.

Crap that sucks, I was a huge monkees fan. Got to see them in concert twice.

Many people characterize them as bubblegum but they had wonderful musical depth not heard on top 40 radio.

If you haven't seen the movie "Head" do watch it, enhancing substances will increase your enjoyment.

In addition to the visuals it made interesting observations about image, materialism, pop culture, and the music/entertainment industry...pretty deep stuff for bubblegum.
