Wow I wish I'd had classes like that in high school.

My favourite thing to do at school, in addition to assembling/disassembling AK we were also taught how to shoot (almost every school had shooting range near by). At the last two grades in hight school we had military training with real guns, AK, night watch, military food for several weeks after summer school break starts.

Got real military profession at university (we had compulsory military classes one day in a week). At military camps afterwards we were taught how to drive armoured vehicles, shoot several types of guns, launching real grenades etc.

In short, most of the Russian men are properly militry-trained.

This reminds me of my mandatory service in the Army.

Military trining at schools and universities is a long lasting custom. Nazi invasion of Russia showed that it is better to have properly military-trained population.

Every man in Russia know how to shoot guns.

I remember we were taught to do this exclusively with a blindfold on our eyes, since it is believed that disassembling the Kalashnikov can come in handy with the beam of his jamming during a massive bombardment with limited vision.
