The idea of the Rapture did not suddenly begin with Darby, although it was greatly increased in popularity with Darby.
Even if the idea did start with Darby only about 200 years ago, so what?
That would not therefore necessarily mean it is not true.
Scripture itself says people will figure more out as the time grows near:

"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end;
many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

Daniel 12:4


But those that hurry to say Darby! Darby! Darby! only reveal their own eagerness simply not to believe it,
simply to say it is not true, simply to dismiss it, and not to delve into it any further..

those that He counts worthy to escape from the horrors of The Revelation.

now why would that be? I'm in an optimistic mood this morning so I'm hoping that something inside of you is telling you that you had better not ignore the message that this series of threads is giving. It can be hard sometimes to accept that great trouble is coming upon this earth, particularly if you've lived a life when horror, grinding poverty and all manner of other misfortunes happen to people you don't know, several thousands of miles away.
Yet it must be obvious to you that the 'good ole' US of A' ain't what it used to be. In fact that it's like a stage set and ruled by greed and perversion. One day very soon it will all come crashing down and all those who rejected or grew lukewarm towards the Lord will bitterly regret their foolish decision. You have still been blessed with a little time...don't waste it.

When I read through it once, I would not have presumed to barely have but a clue about The Book.

I read it mostly straight through half-a-dozen times in several translations,

before beginning more concentrated studies of one sort or another for another decade,

before more casually but continuously reading it ever since, more or less frequently, for another 20 years

and only now feel minimally capable and competent of grasping the most awesome magnificence of The Word of God The Bible - it really is!
