Re: One Gospel - Or Multiple Gospels - KJV Bible Study
The Lord Jesus Christ preached the Gospel of the Kingdom.
[see Matthew 4:23 and Matthew 10:5-7]
The Gospel of the Kingdom has to do with the person of the Messiah, the coming King and was addressed to Israel ONLY.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

Utter NONSENSE.

Jesus sent the Apostles to 'all the nations / world'.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Matthew 26:13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

Mark 14:9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

.....

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them....

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Re: One Gospel - Or Multiple Gospels - KJV Bible Study
The Gospel of God's Grace was preached primarily by the Apostle Paul. [see Acts 15:11, Acts 20:24, Ephesians 3:1-6] This Gospel is addressed to all sinners without distinction, offering to them a Savior .. not a King and a Kingdom. You see how these first two differ?
This is the Gospel we must believe today in order to be saved.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

Paul didn't 'invent' the idea of Grace. It has existed since Cain killed Abel - God didn't kill cain.

Another Gospel, which is really no gospel at all.
This is the false gospel which you preach.
[See 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 and Galatians 1:6-7]
It is preached by false prophets like you .. adding works and religious ritualism to create a different gospel. [See Galatians 1:8 and 2:16, 2 John 1:10-11]
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

'Another gospel' refers to a False Gospel being taught by false teachers who weren't disciples of Jesus.

Period.

If Paul and the others weren't on the same page there would have been NO contact between them.

Re: One Gospel - Or Multiple Gospels - KJV Bible Study
The Everlasting Gospel is the message of Revelation 14 and is addressed to the endtimes earth dwellers just before God's Wrath is poured out.
The Everlasting Gospel is precisely this: 'Fear God and give Glory to Him: For the hour of His Judgement is come'

The Everlasting Gospel is neither the Gospel of Grace nor the Gospel of the Kingdom, but rather the good news that God is about to establish His sovereignty over the world.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

More nonsense. No scripture backs up ANY of your explanations.

Multiple Gospels? Funny that the plural word isn't in the KJV

The word "gospels" occurs 0 time in 0 verses in The New Testament in the KJV.

How can one preach the death, burial and resurrection of Christ BEFORE IT HAPPENS? Jesus never preached the Gospel of the Grace of God. He preached the Gospel of the King and His Kingdom are AT HAND ... just like John the Baptist.
You don't just lump all Gospels together into ONE. That is poor biblical scholarship.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

Because Jesus didn't send them out 'to all nations / world' until after His Resurrection.

The Apostles started teaching when Jesus died - 30 AD.

Paul didn't take his first 'trip' to establish churches until around 50 AD - 20 years later.

Paul's travels, as documented in the (KJV) Book of Acts, show us that EVERYWHERE Paul went - he went to the synagogues FIRST.

This also proves that Paul had the same Gospel as the other Apostles, who were to preach "to the world".

Salamis Acts 13:5
Antioch Acts 13:14
Iconium Acts 14:1
Thessalonica Acts 17:1
Berea Acts 17:10

Delete my post eh??? Fine guy you are ...

Here it is in it's entirety AGAIN:

You said the SAME GOSPEL has always been preached ... from Abraham to today. ONE GOSPEL.

That is wrong. That is a lie.

There have been other Gospels in other times.

For example, the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached by Jesus Christ in the flesh .. He could not have preached death, burial and resurrection for it had not yet happened.

Besides, the Apostles did not understand death, burial and resurrection before it happened:

Luke 18:31-34
"Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

Not until Paul was taught the Gospel of the Grace of God by the Risen Christ Himself did the Gospel message change.

Romans 2:16
"In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

Romans 16:25
"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,"

2Timothy 2:8
"Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel"

How does it feel to be wrong and be schooled by the Word of God (Jesus Christ)????

You are quoting the King James Version! So apparently there are versions. Damn. I guess other versions of the bible tales do display various translation of copies of translations of mostly unknown authored stories. Paul's writings are mostly confirmed. Who wrote Matthew,Mark,Luke and John are mostly a mystery. The bible says so. Those names are attributed to them but no conclusive evidence. So you are studying claims of tales by mostly unknown authors...and you study that. Ok.
 Quoting: Centex7

There's no 'perfect' translation of the Bible manuscripts.

The KJV is one of the best ones though.

This page has all the KJV verses with the word 'Gospel' in them.

On the right side of the page, there's a section which shows how many times the word appears in other translations.

You proclaim Christianity to the world... at least your version of Christianity.

Yet the first six letters of that word: Christ... you have a problem with the deity of Jesus. Last time we spoke, you Servant-Of-The-Lord did not believe that Jesus is God... That was and still is: the hallmark of a cult, unfortunately.

I don't know if you have changed your beliefs since we spoke... Hopefully you did.

He will circle around a tough question and avoid answering it directly to ensure no schmutz is cast at his cultic beliefs.

Re: One Gospel - Or Multiple Gospels - KJV Bible Study
Acts 14 is the first mention of Paul preaching a "Gospel".

The verse says THE Gospel - not "his Gospel".

...

Acts 14

1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Hebrews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Hebrews and also of the Greeks believed.

2 But the unbelieving Hebrews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Hebrews, and part with the apostles.

5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Hebrews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,

6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:

7 And there they preached the gospel.

1 Thessalonians 3:2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Thessalonians 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 1:11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Philemon 1:13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

Crybaby. Those verses are ALL Pau's - what he says about 'gospel'. You're too lazy to read them ALL because they don't support your FALSE doctrine.

Who's doing the actual sidestepping?

Paul taught the SAME Gospel as the other Apostles.

The Lord Jesus Christ preached the Gospel of the Kingdom.
[see Matthew 4:23 and Matthew 10:5-7]
The Gospel of the Kingdom has to do with the person of the Messiah, the coming King and was addressed to Israel ONLY.

Utter NONSENSE.

Jesus sent the Apostles to 'all the nations / world'.

Baloney.

Scripture proves you a liar and a cultist!

Luke 9:2
"And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick."

Luke 9:6
"And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where."

The 12 Disciples preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, just as I told you. Jesus sent them to preach this Kingdom Gospel.

Matthew 4:17
"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

This, my finely feathered occultist, is NOT the Gospel of the Grace of God. No way you can make it that way, so you lie.

Matthew 4:23
"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people."

Matthew 10:5 [to Israel ONLY]
"These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Again, THAT is NOT the same Gospel we teach today.

Therefore, there are more than ONE Gospel.

Depends upon the time period involved and what has been accomplished and revealed to us by Jesus Christ, who is God.

Two MORE points you need to understand.

Where does Paul say that the other Apostles preach a "false gospel"?

He doesn't.

If Paul really thought that, he would have disassociated himself from the others.

That didn't happen.

...

John lived 30+ years LONGER than Paul did.

IF Paul was the ONLY one with the 'true gospel' as you claim, this wouldn't have happened, and Paul would have been the LAST one to die.

Good thread, OP. I have something relevant to add, if Satan can influence a person to speak what he would have them to speak, then it is true that Satan is speaking through them, for being on agreement with and saying what he wants them to say, even if Satan is not actually in them.

In the same sense, Paul's gospel is Jesus' gospel.

Below are all the verses from Paul's letters that use the word 'gospel'. Notice ALL the different phrases.

ALSO notice that Paul uses the simple phrase 'the Gospel' 37 times - far more than any other phrase.

The so-called 'gospel of grace' doesn't exist.

Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Philippians 1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

Philippians 1:12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Philippians 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Philippians 2:22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

1 Thessalonians 2:2 But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

1 Thessalonians 2:8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

1 Thessalonians 2:9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Acts 28 - Paul taught 'the kingdom of God'.

No doubt this was the Gospel.

Acts 28

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Acts 19 - Ephesus

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and

persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
