NZ Traffic Light System

I lost my job a couple of weeks ago due to the Vaccine Mandates here in New Zealand. This week they are introducing a Traffic Light System and it is the beginning of the Vaccine Pass on the phones for scanning in.

I have never uploaded a QR code and don't intend to participate in the Vaccine Pass either.

This week a very old friend of the family passed away in Wellington. When I say very old I mean he first visited our family farm when my Father was around 7 years old (Dad is now 78) Our Uncle was a Priest working in Wellington and arranged for him to visit the farm to convalesce after contracting Rheumatic Fever. So this relationship continued with him visiting nearly every year and when we were little he brought his young family to stay as well.

The Death Notice has just gone up and it requires a Vaccine Pass. Both my parents are unvaxxed (Thank God) but of course this means that they can't attend which is very sad for them. We will be helping them to watch it via Zoom.

It got me to thinking so if one of my parents die will I (as an unvaxxed) be able to attend their Funeral?

If one of them dies will their bodies even be allowed in a Funeral home if they are unvaxxed?

I just said to one of my friend "well, looks like we will have to start doing our own Funerals. A family burial in the back paddock in a cardboard biodegradable box might be the new way to do things. Bi-pass all the bureaucracy and get back to basics.
