Quoting: Bustednuckles 76749920 Who would take a $70,000 truck (with taxes, licence, fees, bribes, insurance) doing heavy hauling like men used to do 20 - 30 years ago? Or take it out seriously offroading? |

They’re also far more powerful, reliable, and get way better gas mileage. I think the Op must be a female. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80867218 You got something against females? Real ones? You the type that likes to cruise for bears in your truck? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80867218 United States 11/29/2021 06:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a Tundra and I pull a 7000 pound boat from Ohio to Florida and back every year with my family packed in and all their shit in the bed. Most dudes just don’t use their trucks. They get a truck cause it’s cute or something and prolly should just own a mini van. I have a Hot Shot trucking company and all I buy is the Ram 3500 trucks with the Cummins. I put 100,000 miles a year on each truck pulling between 17,000 and 30,000 pounds. Basically working them like full semi trucks. I know what these trucks go through. What fools need to ask themselves is why doesn’t Toyota or Nissan start producing full sized 350 series trucks? Think about that for a minute. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80867218 My ‘89 1/2 ton Chevy with a 350 would get nearly 20 mpg going 65 down the highway. My ‘06 F150 with the 4.6L gets 16 mpg. Both trucks will carry a load though. Routinely have carried 3,000 pounds of gravel in the bed of the F150. |

The gate is at waist level when open so you xan actually load/unload appliances and cargo. These people with 6 foot high f150s and rams need ramps or loading docks or throw their backs out trying to lift shit over their head. Big trucks are for show, the real work gets done in small trucks. Throw a fridge or stove in the back of a base 2006 tacoma then try doing the same in a 2020 f150. Let me know which one is better for doing actual work. |

If you buy one to haul around heavy loads or tow heavy equipment then you bought the wrong tool for your application. They have their place and are not widely used since most people who want a truck want more truck then they can or will use not less |

Most trucks have lift and huge knobby tires and never leave the pavement. Truck beds are shortened for more cab space, so truck beds are nearly useless. |
