They are gay little things meant for cucks. Like a motor scooter compared to a motorcycle.

The same dealer has a 2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab V-6 on order, with an MSRP of $57,500. The dealer slapped an addendum of $10,595 on this truck, bringing the advertised price of $67,995, or 18% over MSRP. It’s not on the lot yet, and there is not even an image of the truck yet on the dealer’s website.

A truck is something that you can actually haul things in that weigh more than a case of beer and that you can open up the doors on and hose the floor out.

A half ton truck today can pull and haul more than a full ton truck from 10 years ago. They’re also far more powerful, reliable, and get way better gas mileage. I think the Op must be a female.

Who would take a $70,000 truck (with taxes, licence, fees, bribes, insurance) doing heavy hauling like men used to do 20 - 30 years ago?

Or take it out seriously offroading?

Re: Light trucks are no longer the tough work horses geared toward the working man.
I have a Tundra and I pull a 7000 pound boat from Ohio to Florida and back every year with my family packed in and all their shit in the bed. Most dudes just don’t use their trucks. They get a truck cause it’s cute or something and prolly should just own a mini van.

I have a Hot Shot trucking company and all I buy is the Ram 3500 trucks with the Cummins. I put 100,000 miles a year on each truck pulling between 17,000 and 30,000 pounds. Basically working them like full semi trucks. I know what these trucks go through.

What fools need to ask themselves is why doesn’t Toyota or Nissan start producing full sized 350 series trucks? Think about that for a minute.

There are international harvester flatbeds on c list for half that. Real trucks that haul big shit.

Just buy a truck big enough to haul a pickup truck.

My ‘89 1/2 ton Chevy with a 350 would get nearly 20 mpg going 65 down the highway. My ‘06 F150 with the 4.6L gets 16 mpg. Both trucks will carry a load though. Routinely have carried 3,000 pounds of gravel in the bed of the F150.

The best truck ever is the base non-extended cab 4 cyl tacoma. The gate is at waist level when open so you xan actually load/unload appliances and cargo. These people with 6 foot high f150s and rams need ramps or loading docks or throw their backs out trying to lift shit over their head. Big trucks are for show, the real work gets done in small trucks.

Throw a fridge or stove in the back of a base 2006 tacoma then try doing the same in a 2020 f150. Let me know which one is better for doing actual work.

Light trucks are for light duty that needs a bed to load equipment in. If you buy one to haul around heavy loads or tow heavy equipment then you bought the wrong tool for your application.

They have their place and are not widely used since most people who want a truck want more truck then they can or will use not less

Like very thing, they are done down to a price, so-as to appear like they are the real deal, for those who can not afford the the over-priced, over-blown work truck.

go to any store parking lot, most trucks are just like their owners......bloated, useless, entitled and never do any actual work.

I got a neighbor that has a $60k 2020 Dodge crew cab that he uses to haul his 2 old dogs...smh

Just “light” trucks? lol

About the only thing Detroit has put out since the mid-late 90’s is 4 door luxury cars with 6’ (or 8’) open trunks.

Love actually hauling stuff with my 11 year old f150. Most trucks have lift and huge knobby tires and never leave the pavement. Truck beds are shortened for more cab space, so truck beds are nearly useless.
