Never leave the review until you’re checking out, on top of the run down property you’re going to get extra shitty service too.

is it legal to do that?

this seems a little far fetched,
 Quoting: No holds barred

Police should just have informed the manager that what he wants is ILLEGAL
 Quoting: Gorgol

Seems like it would be, after all, you have to give renters 30 days to leave when you evict them.

Maybe there is something in the small print that says the hotel can immediately eject you for any reason whatsoever.

I find it hard to believe that the police would send a grandma and a small child into the night to find another hotel on foot. Seems rather negligent. Who would be at fault if they got hit by a car or abducted?
 Quoting: SharkHorse

It is not illegal, but usually a civil matter that if the manager wanted would have to file with the courts. Any hotel can ask you to leave for any reason other than your race, sex, or disability.

Probaly makes more money for that room renting by the hour for working ladys pigchef
 Quoting: Wake up men

One time, when I was working as a flight attendant and had an early morning flight, the weather forecast called for snow in the early morning hours. I lived over an hour from La Guardia Airport in NYC, so I made a reservation at a motel near the airport and drove there the night before my trip. I arrived at the motel around 11pm.

My first clue that I made a mistake choosing the motel....the desk clerk was behind a floor to ceiling wall of plexiglass. Bullet proof? I had no choice but to stay. It was late. I had no cell phone.

On my way to my room, an obvious prostitute was walking in front of me. She wore 5 inch inch high heels, fishnet stockings, and a skirt up to her butt. She entered a room.

Now in my room and in bed, expecting a good night's sleep, I hear a woman moaning in the next room along with a man. The wall behind my bed was thin. Their bed was banging against the wall where the head of my bed was. The moaning and the noise from the bed banging against the wall went on all night. I was scared to death. I didn't get much sleep at all. What a strange and scary experience. I'll never forget it!

I once stayed in a Motel 6 in the southwest that had a handwritten sign at the front desk that said "NO!! There is no air conditioner! No refunds will be given!"

But it was late and we needed to crash, so me and the dogs took the room (that's the only reason I use Motel 6, I have two small dogs).

The room was first floor facing the street and had two 4' x 4' windows - the whole side was windows except for the door.

One of the windows was completely missing - no glass, no screen, just an open portal into my room, low enough to the ground that anyone could step in.

It was so hot I had to leave it uncovered by the heavy curtains so we could get some kind of breeze. Meanwhile, there seemed to be "shady men" on either side of me, that kept walking back and forth and literally staring into my room as they did. Also, there was no fridge as advertised (my to go food went to waste) and the TV didn't work properly.

That lady's review is tame compared to mine - but I didn't write mine until after checkout the next day.

Why would you leave a review so soon after check-in? Couldn't give "The Patels" time enough to even address your issue? Furthermore, if I drive up to a motel/hotel if I even so much as see shit out of place and it looking rundown I keep going. If the bathroom smells like a goat just took a shower then I'm gonna assume a fucking goat did indeed just take a shower and I'm outta there.
Some of these assholes give low reviews just to see if they can get some or all of their money back and it wouldn't surprise me if this was one of them. Probably not her first scam truth be told.

Who complains the pool is closed in November? I have an Airbnb. Priced low. 5 stars.

But I don't let them use the pool. Just one more thing for them to complain about.

Why would cops bother with this shit and not tell the hotel she paid, it’s a civil matter if they don’t like her review? (They can sue, it’s not a police matter.)

It's Vyas, which is an Indian name and watching the video you see he's an Indian with a thick accent.

Part of this has to be cultural - they treat people (especially women) like shit in his country and there's a very strong caste system.

Geez, her granddaughter was only six years old.

I'd be calling them to fix the unflushable toilet too!

This video sums up the situation well with both sides:

I love Helen Georgia. A little Bavarian paradise in the middle of the mountains!

That being said, everything there is a "little run down".

I have never stayed in a hotel on the main drag in Helen, we always rent a cabin just outside of town.

Yeah, it's my nearest town - I'm just over east of Unicoi. The PTB in town don't want anything to change. So basically, the town isn't advancing any. If it doesn't change and grow and plan, it will die. They won't let in any fast food (not sure How Wendy's got in there). They won't let developments in because their water/sewer cannot handle the additional. In short, the town has some really (did I say really) bad management.
