People are paid to do that. If I could swing it I'd be a professional foodie, traveling and reviewing food. Except 90% of the food would get one star and my life would be in constant peril! Not worth it. I started to email places or contact them in some way, and make an anonymous complaint. I've had numerous restaurant managers thank me for not leaving negative reviews and giving them the info privately. I ate at a very fancy restaurant here in Nashville recently. It was horrible. A 60 dollar filet that was just terrible. How you ruin a filet migon I have no idea. It was the wrong cut and thickness, just for starters, then it was seasoned in some strange way. Millienals have to put chipotle or some odd seasoning on every dam thing. I don't want lavender in my coffee or dry rub on a filet. Tomfoolery |

A little Bavarian paradise in the middle of the mountains! Quoting: Zenyatta That being said, everything there is a "little run down". I have never stayed in a hotel on the main drag in Helen, we always rent a cabin just outside of town. Yeah, it's my nearest town - I'm just over east of Unicoi. The PTB in town don't want anything to change. So basically, the town isn't advancing any. If it doesn't change and grow and plan, it will die. They won't let in any fast food (not sure How Wendy's got in there). They won't let developments in because their water/sewer cannot handle the additional. In short, the town has some really (did I say really) bad management. That being said, it's great at Christmas with all the lights. It's also nice to sit out by the river at the Troll and drink beer and eat nachos during the summer. The balloon races are awesome, and they have some first-rate craft shows. But yes, you have to be careful about where you stay. If you want cheap, you will probably get cheap. [link to thegeorgiasun.com (secure)] [link to www.helenga.org (secure)] |

"We let her know lots of times to stop calling us. If you're not happy, change the room or leave the place," he said. "They called me at least 10, 11 times in maybe one hour… Everything is not right." [link to www.rawstory.com (secure)] Something's fishy... If the police showed up and told her to leave, WHY wouldn't they give her a ride to another hotel? She claims they had to walk there in their pajamas? Last Edited by nutmeg on 11/23/2021 10:15 AM |

Maybe there is something in the small print that says the hotel can immediately eject you for any reason whatsoever. I find it hard to believe that the police would send a grandma and a small child into the night to find another hotel on foot. Seems rather negligent. Who would be at fault if they got hit by a car or abducted? SharkHorse Unjabbed Do Not Comply, Hold the Line |

Couldn't give "The Patels" time enough to even address your issue? Furthermore, if I drive up to a motel/hotel if I even so much as see shit out of place and it looking rundown I keep going. If the bathroom smells like a goat just took a shower then I'm gonna assume a fucking goat did indeed just take a shower and I'm outta there. Quoting: yibba-yibba Some of these assholes give low reviews just to see if they can get some or all of their money back and it wouldn't surprise me if this was one of them. Probably not her first scam truth be told. Unfortunately in the day and age of Online booking especially in another state when you’re driving overnight and arriving while everything is closed you have nothing to go on but how the pictures look, There are even online reputation companies they will go through reviews have any negative ones removed and write fake ones To boost their ratings. My wife and I Had to go to Tennessee for a wedding we were using Booking.com to find and secure our place to stay. We looked at the pictures we read the reviews And we paid the money to stay. When we get there the pictures were not of the property the rooms were destroyed the doors did not shut Properly and the air conditioner sounded like a blender eating ice. We checked out first thing in the morning left a review and file to get our money back for the remaining four days of the stay. We are now 60 days since the incident our review was removed, they updated the pictures showing the rooms they actually have in the last two slides of the presentation well after most people would click out of the screen. im the new cancer. |

That is usually a civil matter, that they would have advised the clerk to take up with the courts (ha-ha) or corporate. Anyways this cop will now be in trouble with the city Who Ima sure the corporation will contact. Because we all know this is not a good hotel Chain. Susan Leger, 63, was on the first of her three-night stay at the Baymont Inn & Suites in the mountain town of Helen, Georgia in September when she got a call from the hotel manager telling her she had to leave. It came shortly after booking site Hotels.com asked her to leave a review post-check-in. Leger did, branding the property 'run down'. She also complained that her room's toilet did not flush properly and that the pool was closed. 'My granddaughter's like clinging to my leg and crying so hard. This was scary. This was just horrifying,' Leger told WXIA. Police then showed up to remove her and her 6-year-old grandchild, writing in a report that management wanted her out because she 'had given the hotel a bad review.' [link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] I managed hotels and resorts before retiring. This is absolute bull shit. First the manager or owner can not remove a guest for a review. The police violated her rights by doing so. Just more shitty cops. They are all going to get the shit sued out of them. What’s the name of the hotel? I’ll give them a real good and legal review. I will also be happy to call the police department and explain the privacy act to them. Once you have paid for a room and have entered it belong to you for the time reserved. You can only be removed for non payment or destructive, loud behavior. The complaint also has to stem from another guest not the manager. |

[link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] True, but you should be able to expect the toilet to work. About the same rate for Motel 6 and I put up with a lot of "less than desirable" things. But there are some things that shouldn't be tolerated, like lack of physical security (missing window), lack of climate control in extreme climates and lack of a toilet, in this lady's case. These places aren't free - $80 is $80 and they need to provide what they advertise. That's the contract. I give them $80 and they provide what they advertised. I wouldn't keep a small child in a room with a backed up toilet. Last Edited by SharkHorse on 11/23/2021 10:45 AM SharkHorse Unjabbed Do Not Comply, Hold the Line |
