Use an alias to make a review or better yet just don't write one until you leave. Not that I approve of what happened just throwing that out there... |

I lived over an hour from La Guardia Airport in NYC, so I made a reservation at a motel near the airport and drove there the night before my trip. I arrived at the motel around 11pm. My first clue that I made a mistake choosing the motel....the desk clerk was behind a floor to ceiling wall of plexiglass. Bullet proof? I had no choice but to stay. It was late. I had no cell phone. On my way to my room, an obvious prostitute was walking in front of me. She wore 5 inch inch high heels, fishnet stockings, and a skirt up to her butt. She entered a room. Now in my room and in bed, expecting a good night's sleep, and I hear a woman moaning in the next room along with a man. The wall behind my bed was thin. Their bed was banging against the wall where the head of my bed was. Moaning and noise from the bed banging against the wall went on all night. I was scared to death. I didn't get much sleep at all. What a strange and scary experience. I'll never forget it! Spent a few years living in a hotel like that for work. 4-5 days a week for a job that was only 80 miles away. That was when gas was still $2 a gallon. Now we drive back and forth everyday unless it's in another state. We had the worst hotel rooms and out of state contractors (hookers) dominated the hallways. |

Something is off here, what kind of podunk cop shop sheriff allows his peons to do this? Highly unusual at the least, and leads me to believe there's more to this under the sheets. Country Inns are usually nice… or they used to be, and this one we stopped at after a long day of driving. The place looked somewhat dirty when we came in and when we got to our room there were no blankets on the bed, only sheets. Called the front desk and the manager said “they didn’t have blankets”. The room itself was freezing and we couldn’t change the temperature on the thermostat , so we stayed there and froze, as it was too late to go anywhere else. The next one was a hotel in Marietta and we were stuck in a part of the hotel that they were remodeling. It was a scary looking place with dumpsters outside. We were pretty sure there were drug deals going on next door. Can’t remember the name of it. LR |

A little Bavarian paradise in the middle of the mountains! Quoting: Zenyatta That being said, everything there is a "little run down". I have never stayed in a hotel on the main drag in Helen, we always rent a cabin just outside of town. Yeah, it's my nearest town - I'm just over east of Unicoi. The PTB in town don't want anything to change. So basically, the town isn't advancing any. If it doesn't change and grow and plan, it will die. They won't let in any fast food (not sure How Wendy's got in there). They won't let developments in because their water/sewer cannot handle the additional. In short, the town has some really (did I say really) bad management. |

Susan Leger, 63, was on the first of her three-night stay at the Baymont Inn & Suites in the mountain town of Helen, Georgia in September when she got a call from the hotel manager telling her she had to leave. It came shortly after booking site Hotels.com asked her to leave a review post-check-in. Leger did, branding the property 'run down'. She also complained that her room's toilet did not flush properly and that the pool was closed. 'My granddaughter's like clinging to my leg and crying so hard. This was scary. This was just horrifying,' Leger told WXIA. Police then showed up to remove her and her 6-year-old grandchild, writing in a report that management wanted her out because she 'had given the hotel a bad review.' I was driving through IL and it started raining so hard I couldn't see. I decided to call it a night because it was getting late, anyway. So, I pulled off the interstate at the next sign of a hotel - it turned out to be a flea trap of an old wooden place, dirty and smelly and creaky and creepy, but the next stop was miles down the road. There were no restaurants in town, but they sent me to a local Vet's club (VFW I think) as they served evening meals. OMG, the soup had some type of potted meat in it that I swear was dog food cut up into chunks. Ground up and you could taste bits of ground bone. Every horror movie I ever watched flashed before my eyes that night. I did not sleep a minute. LOL! |

There is no air conditioner! No refunds will be given!" But it was late and we needed to crash, so me and the dogs took the room (that's the only reason I use Motel 6, I have two small dogs). The room was first floor facing the street and had two 4' x 4' windows - the whole side was windows except for the door. One of the windows was completely missing - no glass, no screen, just an open portal into my room, low enough to the ground that anyone could step in. It was so hot I had to leave it uncovered by the heavy curtains so we could get some kind of breeze. Meanwhile, there seemed to be "shady men" on either side of me, that kept walking back and forth and literally staring into my room as they did. Also, there was no fridge as advertised (my to go food went to waste) and the TV didn't work properly. That lady's review is tame compared to mine - but I didn't write mine until after checkout the next day.
