Protests underway in Chicago and NYC in US, following Nov. 19 verdict in high-profile court case. Clashes possible.

Reports indicate isolated incidents of looting have taken place. Transport and business disruptions are likely near demonstrations and any additional protests that may materialize. Violent incidents, including looting, vandalism, and clashes between police and protesters, cannot be ruled out. While demonstrations are most likely in the downtown areas, they could also take place in other areas of the city, including outside police precincts. A major deployment of police will almost certainly occur throughout the affected cities. Authorities may impose curfews or deploy additional troops if violence occurs.
