Vladimir Putin has been mocked for wearing shoes with extra-large heels during an official visit.

The Kremlin chief, estimated to be 5ft 7in, sported the super-soles to pose with a group of young people at Moscow State University on Russian Students Day.

Mr Putin, 70, has been spotted wearing such heels for many years but these are thought to be the biggest yet.

One gleeful social media user remarked: ‘Russia’s president – a man so insecure and self-obsessed that he wears high heeled shoes.

‘And in an effort to make himself look even taller, then has smaller female students stand next to him.’

Russia is making very modest gains now -- AFTER CONSOLIDATING ITS FORCES AFTER THE KHERSON WITHDRAWAL -- WHICH WAS NECESSARY FROM A MILITARY POINT OF VIEW.

Punishing the general that evacuated troops and collaborators successfully after that fiasco -- just more of the usual Russian bullshit.

In any event this is not the collapse of the Ukrainian forces that the Putin-puffers make it out to be.



It could well be a tipping point though and this is why support right now (material and moral) is crucial.

He does not necessarily have the tankers to man them!


Mobiks can't be taught to operate a tank in two days.

Russia May Run Out of Missiles in Three Months: Intelligence Report

Russia may not have enough missiles to continue conducting massive strikes against Ukraine for more than three months, an Estonian intelligence official said in the wake of the newest Russian onslaught against its eastern European neighbor.




Since October 2022, Russia has been carrying out waves of attacks against Ukraine, targeting civilian areas and critical infrastructure like energy facilities. The strikes began after the Kerch Strait Bridge, which connects Russia to the occupied Crimean peninsula, and is also a key supply route for Putin's troops, was hit with an explosion in October. Ukraine did not formally claim responsibility for the explosion, but Putin blamed it on Ukraine, calling it an act of "terrorism," and vowed to respond.

The latest wave of strikes took place on Thursday. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, commander-in-chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, said in a T_legram post that Russia fired 55 air and sea-based missile from aircraft and ships stationed in the Black Sea. Ukraine was able to destroy 47 of the missiles, including 20 that were "in the region" of the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, Zaluzhnyi said.

"The goal of the Russians remains the same—psychological pressure on Ukrainians and the destruction of critical infrastructure," he added. "But we cannot be broken!"

I gotta give these guys credit.


And despite those nine years the Russians don't seem to be getting smarter at this game.

Just the opposite


There's something wrong with them.

Russia doesn't have a culture of learning.


Their cup is full.



The Ukrainians appear teachable so far.

That is the difference

If war is the outcome of failed diplomacy, and I think it is, there's a problem in this conflict.

I've learned, over the years, that you can only influence people willing to be influenced. You can only negotiate with people who are willing to negotiate.

Putin is nowhere being a rational person. And, like a certain German leader of years gone by, irrationality coupled with absolute power, leads to devastating results.

Putin would be well advised to remember that ultimately the rational German leaders "found" each other and tried to use a bomb to settle the issue.

Putin also needs to realize that his troops, by and large, are fighting to survive in theater and realize, in their lizard brain, their homes are "back there". The Ukrainians are fighting for their county, culture, language, and their homes are the land being bloodied and bombed.

I'm reminded of those films where the "bad guy" thinks he's got everyone intimidated, goes too far and finds himself in the penultimate scene suddenly surrounded by the townsfolk, heretofore bullied and silent, armed with sticks, clubs, and pitchforks.

When the Swiss say "fuck you, that's enough" it's time to revisit both strategy and tactics. Vlad doesn't get that.

I don't enjoy the threads that are pro-Russia. I do, however, read some of them lest I become too overly narrow in my perspective and thinking. I fear echo chambers, not for their internal resonance, but because of all the other sounds that get drowned out and missed. Russian media is an echo chamber by and large, which creates the illusion to the gullible or validation to the jingoist that "all is well".

Until Russia is "bombed" by truth, until Putin is removed from power by natural or manmade causes, all we'll see is the limits of treasure on the waging of war and the effects of uncontrolled psychosis on the landscape of both Ukraine and Russia.

Thanks. Like everyone else I have opinions based on what I read, experience, etc. I've done business all over the world and learned that what I guess I'd call "an American viewpoint" is largely American. Every other region/country has their own unique way of looking at things based on their location, culture, and most importantly their history.
