Line 5 Shutdown - Will Biden Honor Treaty?

The wicked witch of Michigan has been attempting to shut down the Embridge line 5 pipeline which carries oil and propane.

Whitmer ordered the pipeline shut down, Embridge ignored her.

Canada, in October, invoked the 1977 Transit Pipelines Treaty. Line 5 is governed by a provisions of the agreement guaranteeing uninterrupted transit of light crude oil and natural gas liquids between the United States and Canada.

By invoking the treaty, Canada is forcing the Biden "administration" to intervene under article 6 of the treaty. Whitmer, of course, is calling this a delaying "tactic" proving once more she has no idea how laws, constitutions or treaties work.

This pipeline carries 540,000 barrels per day of crude and refined products like propane. If the pipeline is shut down, tankers of oil and propane will go across the Mackinac bridge many times a day which would be an even larger danger than what Whitmer thinks the pipeline is.

Of course being the good comrade that Whitmer is, she says that Michigan will offer assistance to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan residents when their propane and gasoline prices DOUBLE after the pipeline is shut down.
