I have to clean him and bedding up today he got sick on himself last night.

I've got a thick skin. I actually find many of these comments quite humorous and there's no way in hell they are serious, but I'm not everyone.

I know so many that are in a fragile place right now.

How flipping horrific it would be for me to say the things that have been said to me... I don't really have the heart for that!

To say the thing that would make somebody take their own life may not be murder but I think it's nearly as evil!

I am so very sorry you are losing a pet. I’ve lost my pomeranian and I lost a daughter. It was horribly painful.

The daughter of course I still grieve over. People have funerals and send flowers and it’s always hard.

But with a pet some people don’t get that our pets loved us all the time and we miss them terribly when they are gone.

I’m sorry that this is happening. I understand how you feel. May God’s tuck you in the palm of his hand.

Pets go to heaven too. I am positive of it.

I'm certainly fine actually.

I'm a bit melancholy sometimes so I think people mistake that for general pity or something. They also say I complain when I don't I am just a very forward person. Maybe I come across as an ass sometimes but I mean no harm.

One of my clients and friends said it best to me lately. In my presence she sees and feels nothing but genuine kindness and trust, but when reading some of my intellectual writings, she could see how people might have poor reading comprehension and mistake the context of what I'm saying as negative.

Then comes the irony of discussing this matter because it seems as if I am complaining about being told that I complain. I am just genuinely curious with how misrepresented some people can be.

It's actually quite intriguing.

I don't mind really, but I see it more as a way to give constructive criticism, not vile trolling comments.

Seems there's zero regulation to karma but threads are moderated to hell and back.

It's different if somebody is being an asshole, irritating or purposely misinforming or misdirecting people, stealing copyright content...

But to have to look at vile comments and see something I posted was removed for "violating posting rules" (I have no idea whatsoever how) unless I use all the positivity accrued by the green messages to remove those things, there they will stay.

This was debated here years ago. "Should karma have to be signed?"

Shouldn't even have to be a debate.

It's also very useful as a currency here. It's not about the ego boost and a full green bar (a lot of full red bar users actually aren't even that bad here). It's the fact that I can stop ip bans for 30 days, upgrade my own account and accounts of friends, delete mistaken karma posts...

There's SO much good in the karma system. I actually do see it as a vital part of GLP.

Some red cracks me up and I deserve it so I even leave it there for all to see! But just look at the last couple days... It's very sophomoric.

But my God something is going on here... I think all the extra attention and traffic here in the last 10 years has brought a rough crowd. It's not at all the fault of the site or mods from what I've seen. We all make mistakes!
