If you want to listen to archives (archives every 30 minutes), it costs $30 a year. It's well worth it, because you can go back and listen to ambulance dispatches that happened earlier in the day, or last week, or last year.

I have created a script that downloads 24 hours of archives (48 30 minute mp3 files) and assembles them into 1 big mp3, then removes all the blank audio space with ffMpeg. This allows me to hear all the radio traffic from an entire day in just 10 minutes for my small town. Larger cities would have more dispatches and more traffic and therefore longer audio files.

My ultimate goal is to have it transcribed and searchable for certain key words like "stroke" Heart Attack", etc.

I want to start collecting this info for major cities to track incident rates.

For example when listening to a major city dispatch, the dispatcher said for 3 calls on the same day "Caller reports they received the flu shot earlier today". As if they already know and it's like "here we go again".
