U.K. supermarkets using cardboard cutouts to hide gaps left by supply issues
U.K. supermarkets are using cardboard cutouts of fruit, vegetables and other groceries to fill gaps on shelves because supply problems combined with a shift towards smaller product ranges mean many stores are now too big.

Tesco has begun using pictures of asparagus, carrots, oranges and grapes in its fresh produce aisles, prompting ridicule on social media.

“Mmmm, delicious photos of asparagus,” one commenter wrote on Twitter. Another mocked an oversized picture of the vegetable piled up: “I love that asparagus grows to this size in the UK. It’s our climate, I’m sure.”

Re: U.K. supermarkets using cardboard cutouts to hide gaps left by supply issues
Shoppers have spotted fake carrots in Fakenham, cardboard asparagus in London, pictures of oranges and grapes in Milton Keynes, and 2D washing liquid bottles in Cambridge. Sainsbury’s has also used outline drawings of packaging to fill shelves.

The tactic comes as shortages of HGV drivers and pickers and packers on farms and food processing plants lead to low availability of some items in supermarkets. Problems at ports, where handlers are struggling to cope with a surge in deliveries for the festive season, are also leading to shortages.

Just got in from work and had to stop at local supermarket on way home for a few bits.

No supply shortage, no empty shelves so it's obviously hype. Having worked in a supermarket years ago whilst at college it was common practice to use 'cover ups' and plug gaps....it's all about display management as it looks bad having gaps.

They just need the outer walls of the supermarket on tracks. So the walls can keep closing in. All shelves still stocked but the store is only 8 feet long now.

The supermarkets are purposely deceiving people by doing this. Anyone just walking by this section would never perceive a problem ....

Re: U.K. supermarkets using cardboard cutouts to hide gaps left by supply issues
This is a tactic used in North Korea and other Communist arenas to make it look as though they are a functioning society, when all they really are is a movie set with re-education camps and warehouses (that hold dissenters/political prisoners) behind it.

They are literally covering up the fact that there is no food to put there. Bread lines incoming.

Our new Chinese owners in the U.S. will probably start implementing this same tactic shortly.

Also, I love how social media users have all become professional comedians in the last few years.

Instead of actually getting off of their asses to FIX this problem, they would rather make a joke about it online.

But who cares--as long as the Liberal/Democrat/Socialist/Communist Nazi leaders who are quickly and quietly taking over EVERYTHING are laughing at your stupid jokes and giving you a thumbs up on Twitter, all is well with the world.

Right?

It gets worse. Many of these same supermarkets have banned bags during deliveries - in favour of making customers carry stuff from a crate to their kitchen. They claim it's to 'save the environment' but mysteriously have no problem wasting carboard for fake displays on shelves.

I can't even begin to imagine what heights the nonsense will reach after the big meeting in Scotland.

Yes its deceit. They don't want people to be aware of a shortage and how serous the situation is.

It is all optics. If they go to this length to deceive you and not reveal a real problem, imagine what they are doing with the jab.
